In Like a Lion?!

Hi There!  Just a few things to update you on for the next few days:

Tomorrow is our annual PINK SHIRT day to support anti-bullying.  J

I could still use at least one more driver for our fieldtrip to Home Hardware this upcoming Tuesday afternoon.  We will be leaving at approx.. 12:45pm and returning at 2:15pm.  If you can help out please let me know ASAP.  Thanks!

I am away Friday and Monday.  Mrs. Sherese Speelman will be in for me.  She knows the students well and they have a great time with her.

Beginning Monday, we will be welcoming Miss Karly Lowe to our classroom for six weeks.  She is a PS11 student from the University of Lethbridge.  She will be both teaching under my direct supervision as well as observing and assisting in the classroom.  We are so excited to have her!

March is the time for another reporting period, as well as what we call the Celebration of Learning.  Unlike last year, the Celebration of Learning will be throughout the entire school. On Thursday, March 13th from 5:30-7:30, (you’ll be asked to sign up for a time slot ahead of time online) you’re invited to come and see your child’s Grade 1 work. This is not a parent/ teacher interview, but more of an ‘open house’ in which your Grade 1 student will have work to share. That’s why it’s called a Celebration of Learning! March Report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 14th.
If after the Celebration of Learning and reading the report card, you would still prefer a more traditional parent teacher interview, please let me know and we can arrange for that on Friday March 21st. Information on how to sign up for a time slot for Celebration of Learning using an online system called Conference Manager will be sent home closer to the date.

Don’t forget to check out the important March dates!

Here's a list of first names for use when completing Valentine's!  Valentine's can be brought to school anytime next week, we already have little storage folders ready to go in our desks.

I hope spelling went well for everyone!  Just a reminder, three times a week is enough practice, but feel free to adjust this according to your child.  Please return scribblers to school each Friday, so they can be checked and a new list can be added.

Welcome to Skye C. and her family!  Skye joined our class this week and has done such a great job of adjusting to her new environment.  We are so happy to have her!

Next Thursday is dress in RED day!  (Dress like Valentine's or dress Canadian to support our athletes!)

The WINTER WALK has been rescheduled for this Wednesday afternoon.
